Welcome! I'm Iasmim Amiden dos Santos, a PhD student in the Information & Media program at Michigan State University. My research explores environmental journalism practices in independent media and media discourses around environmental issues in Latin America.
I’m originally from Brazil, where I spent nearly five years working with an environmental NGO in the Pantanal wetlands on conservation projects alongside local communities. I also helped launch the Brazilian sister site of The Conversation, an experience that strengthened my passion for science communication and science journalism.
I hold a Master's degree in Science Communication and Public Engagement from the University of Edinburgh, where I studied as a Chevening Scholar.
